City Cup Final

Berwick entertain Whitehill Welfare from the Lowland League in the ESFA Cup Final (City Cup) this Tuesday, 15th April KO 7.45pm. Gretna were winners in 2013. If the game is drawn it will go to penalty kicks rather than extra time first. Admission is £6 Adult and £2 Conc/Schoolchild Season Tickets not applicable for this game. Colin Cameron is likely to give a run out to players who have been on the bench lately, including Dean Hoskins, Dean Carse, Kenny O’Brien, Michael Andrews, Michael Dunlop, Josh Morris, Lewis Turner and Jack Downie.

Berwick Rangers maintained their slim promotion play-off hopes with victory over nine-man Elgin City at Borough Briggs. Rangers trailed to a first half own goal from skipper Lee Currie, but bounced back in the second half after City had a second man sent off.

Berwick head North this weekend for another vital game in the chase for a play off spot. Elgin, despite being near the foot of the table are a decent outfit as Berwick have found this season but Manager Colin Cameron will have his players motivated for certain.

Berwick Rangers will look to regain The East of Scotland Cup (City Cup), won by Gretna 2008 last season, when they are due to entertain Lowland League side Whitehill Welfare in the Final at Shielfield Park on Tuesday 15th April with a 7.45pm kick-off . The admission charges are reduced considerably with £6 ADULTS and £2 CONCESSIONS/CHILDREN


Stirling Albion 2-1 Berwick Rangers

Two goals in the last two minutes punched a severe hole in Berwick’s play-off hopes at Forthbank. Rangers led 1-0 for a long period, following Darren Lavery’s 15th league goal of the season in the first half, but Stirling hit back against 10-man Rangers and goals in the 89th and 90th minutes sealed Berwick’s fate.

As manager Colin Cameron has said all of the remaining games are vital and that certainly Is the case tomorrow (Saturday 5th April kick-off 3pm) at Stirling. It is 4th v 5th and Berwick know a win would take them into 4th above Stirling. Honours are even to date this season with one win each plus a draw. Steve Norman is still out but hopefully the squad will be on similar lines to last weekend. The reserves home game v Hawick is postponed tomorrow following several days rain, this after the ge last Tuesday.

Berwick Rangers 3-1 Albion Rovers

Berwick secured a vital three points against Albion Rovers but remain two points behind Stirling Albion in the play-off race ahead of their clash at Forthbank next Saturday. Paul Currie put the Gers ahead in the third minute while Ross Gray doubled the advantage on 32 minutes after meeting a Colin Cameron free kick.
