Development Team v Cowdenbeath Match Off

Following a pitch inspection at Central Park this afternoon (18th November), tonight's U20 Development League game away to Cowdenbeath has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Next action for the u-20's is at home to East Stirlingshire, Tuesday 25th November at Shielfield Park with a 7.45 pm kick-off.

A talk-in with manager Colin Cameron has been arranged by the Supporters' Club for Friday 21st November. The event will take place in the Sponsors' Lounge at Shielfield Park at 7.30pm. So you've plenty of time to get your questions ready! All supporters are welcome to attend.


Berwick Rangers 2-3 East Fife

Berwick manager Colin Cameron bemoaned the loss of three set-piece goals as his side came from behind twice against East Fife, only to fall to defeat in the third minute of stoppage time. After a goalless first half, Allan Walker put the visitors ahead in the 69th minute before Darren Lavery hit back with a fantastic 25-yard first time strike with 12 minutes remaining.


Methil Men in Town

Berwick quickly meet up with East Fife again when the Bayview team visit Shielfield this Saturday (15th November KO 3pm) this time in SPFL2 action. Berwick have won twice at Methil this season, both 3-2 earlier in the league and two weeks ago in a dramatic Cup tie.


Sammy Reid Tribute

Tributes have been pouring in from everyone involved at Berwick Rangers for Sammy Reid, scorer of the club’s most famous goal, who died at his Wishaw home in Lanarkshire on Sunday aged 75. Sammy was part of the Berwick team which famously defeated Rangers in the Scottish Cup

Berwick Rangers' development team's two previous fixtures were rained off and with no scheduled game this week, this friendly was arranged against Juniors Haddington Athletic on the artificial Whittingehame Drive surface where both clubs train. As it wasn't a league game, there was no restriction on the use of overage players. Two of the more experienced men shared all four Berwick goals which all came in a fourteen minute scoring burst before half time.

Sammy Reid’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 18th November at 11-15 am at Cambusnethan North Parish Church in Wishaw, Lanarkshire.


Tulloch Injury Latest

Berwick captain Stephen Tulloch is facing a spell of 6-8 weeks on the sidelines after fracturing his cheekbone in the 2-0 win over East Stirlingshire on Saturday.Tulloch, 26, was forced off following an aerial collision with former Berwick defender Chris Townsley and spent minutes down receiving treatment before being replaced by Dean Hoskins after only nine minutes.


Sad News

News came through on Sunday evening (9th November) of the sudden death of former club legend Sammy Reid at his Wishaw, Lanarkshire home. Sammy will live in Berwick history of course as the man who netted the only goal in the 1-0 Cup win over Rangers at Shielfield on 28th January 1967.
