Montrose travel to Berwick tomorrow (Sat 8th March) in SPFL2 and to date this season there has been nothing between the clubs, with all three matches ending as draws (2 x 1-1 and in the New Year 0-0 at Links Park) Manager Colin Cameron will miss Dean Hoskins (1 game suspension) although Steve Notman is free from his ban now. Colin hopes to be back himself if all goes well with a late check and it is also hoped that Stephen Tulloch and Darren Lavery will be fit.
Sportsman's Lunch Postponed

The Sportsmans Lunch, due to be held on Sunday 30th March at the Berwick Rugby Club, has been postponed until a later date yet to be confirmed.
Reserves to Leave East of Scotland League

Berwick Rangers Reserves have resigned from the East of Scotland League for next season. Their final game of this campaign will mark the end of a four year spell in the League. However, Berwick Rangers will continue to have a reserve team. This season, the club also entered the SPFL Reserve League playing midweek fixtures at venues such as Dens Park, Dundee, Starks Park, Kirkcaldy and Palmerston Park, Dumfries.

In the 38th minute at Annan, Berwick Rangers equalled a record that has stood for 50 years, when a penalty goal was scored against them for the tenth time in a season. However, unlike season 1963/64 we still have nine games remaining and on current form look likely to break the record very soon!

Berwick Rangers made it three games without a win when they went down 4-0 to promotion-chasing Annan at Galabank. With only one point from their previous two games, Berwick were keen to get back to winning ways, but they lost out to a first-half penalty from Ally Love, their ninth against this season, a second half double from Kenny MacKay and a late header from Peter Watson.

Borderers at Annan

Tomorrow (Saturday 1st March KO 3pm) Berwick travel to Galabank’s all weather pitch to face the current second placed outfit in SPFL2. Annan beat Queen’s Park in midweek (coming from a goal down) to cement their position. The games between the clubs this season so far have witnessed several goals, 16 in three games! Annan have two wins and Berwick have one. For the game Steve Notman serves a 1 game ban with Dean Hoskins set to sit out next Saturday (8th) at home to Montrose. Scott Dalziel is free from suspension while Colin Cameron and Ross Gray who missed the game last weekend could be back, with late checks on both. Recent captures, Andy Russell and Jack Downie are in the squad too. The Reserves host Peebles Rovers at Shielfield with a 2.30pm KO.

Colin Cameron has added 19 year old full back/midfielder Jack Downie to his squad. The former Livingston player has been utilised as a trialist in the past three games but has now signed a deal with the club until the end of this season. Downie, who lives in Edinburgh, made 7 appearances for Livi in his spell with the Almondvale outfit.

Berwick head into Saturday’s clash with second-placed Annan five points adrift of a play-off spot after a draw away to East Stirling at Ochilview. Lee Currie lit up an otherwise poor first half by dispatching a 25-yard free kick on 41 minutes for his 11th goal in his last 16 games. Paul Quinn equalised from the spot midway through the second half and in stoppage time, debutant Andy Russell missed a gilt-edged chance to snatch the win for the Gers as he placed his shot wide of the post.

Berwick Snap Up Drummond

Berwick today signed 19 year old left sided player Ross Drummond from Championship team Dunfermline Athletic on a Temporary Transfer until the end of this season. Drummond, who lives in Fife, joins up with the squad for the trip to face East Stirlingshire at Ochilview tomorrow.
